We had an incident this past week. A person filed a complaint with the BBB. In truth I was distressed to see the complaint. Then I read it. I actually called the person who filed the complaint to see if I could address any of his concerns. No, I didn’t call to sell him anything. I called to see if I could address any of his concerns, answer any questions he may have. Perhaps help him in is business.
Much to my surprise (not really) he wasn’t interested in having his concerns addressed, his supposed questions answered. He certainly was not interested in promoting his business.
I was disgusted when I got off the phone with him. Disgusted, but not surprised. Most folks that complain about other people who are working, and making a good living, are their own worst enemy. They refuse to get out of their own way; the result is a resounding failure in any venture they attempt. Many times both professional and personal.
We’ve all met them, know some of them personally. The: it’s always the other guy’s fault, or this happened so I couldn’t, or he/she did this so I couldn’t. They spend their entire lives hopping around: the couldn’t button.
When in truth, it’s not a couldn’t button at all; it’s a wouldn’t button. Understand the difference? What a person can do and what they will do is often two very different things.
This is usually accompanied by an extremely negative mindset.
In truth there is nothing you can do to change a person’s mindset. That is their responsibility. It boils down to their life choices. Yes I know the first impulse is “Oh but I can help them, they need help, let me help them” Don’t go there. You can not help them when they refuse to help themselves.
You can hand someone a glass of fresh cool water, but if they refuse to drink it it’s their choice. You may have an entire reservoir of clean fresh cool water, and they will still die of thirst if they refuse to drink.
You can not change their minds, the only person that can do that is the person in question.
Yes I used to try to help them anyway, try to change their minds. No, I do not do that anymore. Jim Rohn has a wonderful response to this type of person. “Isn’t that interesting.” And he goes on his way.
Move on, work with the people that want to work. Don’t waste your valuable time on those that do not. We all know them, an excuse for everything and everything is an excuse. “Isn’t that interesting” and move on.
I don’t need to run after people to have them work with me, and neither do you. My time is valuable, and so is yours. Yes that’s what I said your time is valuable.
As I was working this week I did think about the “complaint”. I know the enterprise I was referring to is excellent. That the training offered is extremely useful, to any business person. I’ve used many of the skills I’ve developed as a result of this training in my Ranch, Kennel business, and a variety of affiliate marketing projects.
Actually this complaint resulted in: me reviewing the training I’ve received, the skills I’ve developed, the progress I’ve made in my business endeavors since taking advantage of the training offered.
Curious as to what the complaint was? The person complaining was not happy with the following question:
If I could honestly show a real way to put $10,000 or more in the bank within the next 30-45 days, would that be worth a few minutes of your time today?
I suppose it is a challenge for some people to comprehend making $10,000 a month. Yes it’s realistic. Seriously working with the system $10,000 a week is realistic. Did I make $10,000 a week last month?
No I didn’t, but then I haven’t been seriously working with it either. My focus over the past few months has been on a dog rescue project. I’ve even put most of my kennel presentations on hold because my focus has been on the dog rescue project. (I soooo need to take photographs of my beautiful Pomeranians and get them uploaded!)
Here’s the kicker, as a result of the valuable training I’ve received, note I said the training I received. Not system sales, just the training I’ve utilized. I had a $16,000 or $17,000 month this month. This month being November 2007. No I don’t know exactly how much came in, I haven’t closed out my books for the month yet. Am I going to show you some paypal statements or bank statements. Or photograph some pile of cash on an express mail envelope. No I am not.
Showing those statements proves absolutely nothing. Except, that you can take a photo of a statement. Or can handle a graphics program, or have signed up for someone’s sales page that has already put the graphics together. In short, no I am not showing statements. It’s tacky and I’m not doing it.
Can you make $10,000 a month working from home? Yes you can.
Can you make $10,000 a week working from home? Yes you can.
Will you make $10,000 a month? Ok-here’s the answer. I have absolutely no Idea. You tell me. Are you willing to do the work. Will you follow through. Will you make $10,000 a month, or $10,000 a week? Only you have that answer.
What’s it going to be? The ball is in your court.

News and Notes: Early Autumn Morning..
This morning started before the crack of dawn. 4:00 a.m. and my body clock went off. Up and at it. (coffee anyone?)
Wow, can you believe it?! It’s already the end of October. Happy Halloween. I hope this wonderful Autumn season is going great for you… (or spring season for those of you in the southern hemisphere)
Autumn is my favorite season. After the first couple of frosts the bugs are pretty much gone. Well not altogether but it’s nice out in the evenings without any of the little buggers biting me.
Life on the high plains has been crazy busy as usual, with a few twists added in. We just had an influx of over 40 rescue dogs. No they are not available for adoption at this point. We are still cleaning the poor little dogs up. Nasty case of fleas there. We are winning that battle though. Good by fleas.
Sorry I haven’t kept up with the newsletters. Between taking care of my kennels, working with the rescues, getting the Pomeranians ready for winter. (Want to come haul straw anyone…lol…) I’ve been running pretty short of time, not to mention energy.
We have some absolutely beautiful pom puppies too… wow… they are simply a pleasure to look at.
Been working on some remodeling on our main site too. I soooo need to take some puppy photos. Yes I'm working on it.
My kennel workout is working on the weight loss front. I’ve lost another 3 pounds!
Yay! That makes 21 pounds down so far. I have been making use of the Forte Diet from New Vision as well. Tastes pretty good, and makes a quick meal. Frankly unless my husband is home I am not taking the time to cook.
With that said it’s important to keep my nutritional levels where they need to be to keep up with my busy life. I am very pleased with the results I’m getting. Good energy levels, not feeling so tired and drug out. Actually feeling good.

Head shakin mini rant
Good morning … or afternoon … etc… depending on what part of the planet you live on. May all be well with you today.
It tis the last day of June on my Little Ranch here in Southeastern Wyoming. On this bright summer morn I have to say I am a bit perplexed. Actually it’s one of those moments when you just shake your head in… what would the word be. Certainly not amazement, not disbelief because you’ve seen it so many times before. It’s not disgust although sometimes it borders on that… no single word covers it. It’s a quiet to silent laugh through the nose and a head shake. At the same time a knowing look flashes through the eyes.
Most, if not all, people that actually work for themselves... note I said ACTUALLY WORK… have had this flash across their face at one time or another. It’s usually the result of someone’s naiveté. Or a comment by someone who “says” they want to be in business for themselves. Loves the idea of being in business for themselves. Is usually making no money, can’t figure out why they aren’t making any money. Want’s you to tell them how to make money. Take your time to help them get their business going. Change their financial state, physical state, mental state… whatever.
At the same time, refuses to take any action on their part. Oh let’s not forget… flat refuses to take any responsibility for the state their life/business/marriage/mental state etc is in.
Thus far this is a little rant, but I’m building up steam for a full on honkin rant complete with #$*%^#& … frankly I don’t have the time for it. I’m attacking grooming again today. And will be until I get through it. Those little hairballs need that winter coat off in this heat… so it’s the great hair off campaign.
So to wrap it up. You… Me… each and every one of is responsible for our own lives, business, marriage, mental state, messy house, or poopy drawers you may be sitting in. You don’t like that, tough tookis. It’s that free will thing. Your life your responsibility. You don’t like the way your life, etc. is going. CHANGE IT!
Here is the kicker: It takes effort on your part. Effort to learn, Effort to follow thorough, Effort to change direction when necessary. There is another word for effort… can you guess what it is. Bet you can. Ok… here it is … great mystery solved… it’s a tiny little four letter word. No not whine… Whine has five letters. The great mystery word is… drumroll please…W-O-R-K.
Think about it. What you do is up to you! On the flip side. What you don’t do is up to you! The results are yours so is the choice.

News and Notes: Pet Food Recall
To those of you who found your way here from my news and notes email... Good Job. I goofed when I was putting the hyperlinks ... I would have sent an updated one but can only email from veretekk once a week. Decent system, but that is a draw back. At any rate. Sorry.
Crazy Busy Days…
One of my girls had puppies, I of course
need to take photos and post them along with updated photos of the whole crew.
The Poms are absolutely beautiful. This winter has been a harsh one with
a lot of snow. I’ve actually lost count of the blizzards…
good grief. The dogs have done remarkably well. Better than I have.
We finally dried out, only to have yet
another blizzard. This should be the last one of the season. The snow is
melting, and of course it’s mud mud and more mud. Whine Whine …
Broke my foot a week ago. Dropped a whelping crate on it. I use large 4ft
by 2 ft crates with shredded paper and whelping beds for my girls to have their
puppies in. That way they can have privacy and nurture their babies. I had one
all folded up… and dropped it on my left foot. Didn’t hurt the
crate, but broke my foot.
Fortunately it just cracked the bone. At
least I can’t feel it shifting around. Very colorful bruises and swelling
of course. It’s late and I have more to do with the hairballs…
I wanted to get this Pet Food Recall
warning out.
I’d been unhappy with the feed I was using… Feed I”ve used for a long time. What I thought
was good quality food… actually it used to be very good. I’m
not so happy with it now. I had one pup in particular break out in the nastiest
blisters I’ve ever seen. Changed the feed to HealthyPetNet: Life
Abundance. And the blisters went away.

News and Notes: This Year Is Starting Off With a Bang
Today is the first issue of News and Notes for the New Year...Wow... 2007!
This year is starting off with a bang. I am working towards personal and professional goals.
Make a plan and work your plan. Each of our businesses are different, because each of us is different. Be selective about what you represent. Remember what you represent reflects on your integrity.
I've given a blurb on some of what I'm working with this year. 2007 is shaping up to be a very exciting year. There is a book on my calendar as well; although I'm not sure when it will be completed. I haven't set my completion date at this point.
One day one step at a time... weight loss is a primary goal. I found an excellent program. news and notes... walk on fire...
Are you ready to walk on fire?I was in a voip conference last night and that question was asked... valid question. I woke up around 3:30 this morning and the first thing through my mind was... Are you ready to walk on fire?
Some of us have been in the work from home arena for a while, others are just looking to start a home business. Some of us are established in our efforts to earn income on the Internet, others are just moving into that arena. It doesn't matter whether you've been around for years, have a brick and mortar offline business, are strictly in the virtual arena, affiliate marketing, or network marketing, this question still applies. Are you ready to walk on fire?
So what does that mean? Are you ready to walk on fire? Have you determined or are you ready to do what it takes to discover the Following:
- Know who you are
- Know What YOU want
- What Do YOU need
- Training
What's in your primary business portfolio? What do you want to do with it... what are you willing to do to make that happen?
- What are you willing to sacrifice?
- where are you going to be in 2 years?
- where are you going to be in 5 years?
- where are you going to be in 10 years?
Failure is only failure if you fail to learn from the experience! Use fear as a tool, a motivator. It's up to you. Are you going to allow failure and/or fear to paralyze you, or are you going to use it as a tool to further your growth, both personal and in your business endeavors?
