News and Notes: Bright Autumn Morning

Beautiful morning to ya all... yes I know it's not morning in all your neighborhoods. However it is morning here on the high Wyoming Plains. There is still a slight haze but not much. Amazingly the smokey haze from the California fires reached even to here... over the Rocky Mountains!

My thoughts and prayers go out for those folks living in the fire ravaged regions.

We had a few days of strong wind that dispersed the haze. Yesterday and today are just light breezes and bright sunshine. Makes for a wonderful crisp morning. Hopefully it stays pretty calm throughout the day. I (and for a while my husband ...before he gets called to the railroad) am strawing the dog runs today. Since the rescue group came in there are over 50 runs to be strawed.

Strawed means, putting bales of straw in the pens and houses for winter bedding. There is more to winterizing the kennel than strawing the pens but that is a blog post for The Arfing News... to be written later.

There are fresh photos on their way over the next day or two to the Robbins Run Ranch Blog as well as my main site Robbins Run Ranch: Living the Dream with our Pomeranians.

I am in the process of adding a business portfolio page to my main site as well... There are some very exciting things coming up.

Winterizing the kennel has to come first. It's a race with the weather. It's also a phenomenal workout. whoo hoo... I do believe I'll be ready to walk that half marathon this spring. Seriously it would be great to have some walking partners for that event. It's in between Cheyenne and Laramie Wyoming. Up in the mountains. Beautiful country, stay on the trail though, no point in putting yourself at risk as cougar food. Yes I'm doing it anyway, we have cougar in our neighborhood as well.

News and Notes: Early Autumn Morning..

This morning started before the crack of dawn. 4:00 a.m. and my body clock went off. Up and at it. (coffee anyone?)

Wow, can you believe it?! It’s already the end of October. Happy Halloween. I hope this wonderful Autumn season is going great for you… (or spring season for those of you in the southern hemisphere)
Autumn is my favorite season. After the first couple of frosts the bugs are pretty much gone. Well not altogether but it’s nice out in the evenings without any of the little buggers biting me.

Life on the high plains has been crazy busy as usual, with a few twists added in. We just had an influx of over 40 rescue dogs. No they are not available for adoption at this point. We are still cleaning the poor little dogs up. Nasty case of fleas there. We are winning that battle though. Good by fleas.

Sorry I haven’t kept up with the newsletters. Between taking care of my kennels, working with the rescues, getting the Pomeranians ready for winter. (Want to come haul straw anyone…lol…) I’ve been running pretty short of time, not to mention energy.

We have some absolutely beautiful pom puppies too… wow… they are simply a pleasure to look at.

Been working on some remodeling on our main site too. I soooo need to take some puppy photos. Yes I'm working on it.

My kennel workout is working on the weight loss front. I’ve lost another 3 pounds!


Yay! That makes 21 pounds down so far. I have been making use of the Forte Diet from New Vision as well. Tastes pretty good, and makes a quick meal. Frankly unless my husband is home I am not taking the time to cook.

With that said it’s important to keep my nutritional levels where they need to be to keep up with my busy life. I am very pleased with the results I’m getting. Good energy levels, not feeling so tired and drug out. Actually feeling good.

News and Notes: Exciting Times on the High Plains

Good Morning, afternoon, evening, whichever it may be in your corner of the world.

Lots of fun stuff happening at our Home on the Range. The happy hairballs are doing great. Beautiful Puppies out playing in the yards. It is such a pleasure to watch them jump run and tumble with each other...lol... I am determined! I will be taking photos over the next week and updating my main site. RobbinsRunRanch: Living the Dream. I've been working on some pretty nifty projects for that site. Some raffles, and drawings and other fun things. Not done yet but in the works.

My training program is going well, dropped some more weight, and some more inches. I have to admit that always makes me smile. I had a little bobble, as in a bounce in weight. However, I've lost that and some more besides. Yay! I've been recording my progress and such on my Fitness Fest Blog. All are welcome. I am looking for some walking partners. Being in the same location is not a requirement. We can communicate over yahoo messenger, phone, or the blogs. My yahoo messenger id is robbinsrun, when you request to be added to my contact list give me a bit of an introduction so I have a clue what's it's about.

Head shakin mini rant

Good morning … or afternoon … etc… depending on what part of the planet you live on. May all be well with you today.

It tis the last day of June on my Little Ranch here in Southeastern Wyoming. On this bright summer morn I have to say I am a bit perplexed. Actually it’s one of those moments when you just shake your head in… what would the word be. Certainly not amazement, not disbelief because you’ve seen it so many times before. It’s not disgust although sometimes it borders on that… no single word covers it. It’s a quiet to silent laugh through the nose and a head shake. At the same time a knowing look flashes through the eyes.

Most, if not all, people that actually work for themselves... note I said ACTUALLY WORK… have had this flash across their face at one time or another. It’s usually the result of someone’s naiveté. Or a comment by someone who “says” they want to be in business for themselves. Loves the idea of being in business for themselves. Is usually making no money, can’t figure out why they aren’t making any money. Want’s you to tell them how to make money. Take your time to help them get their business going. Change their financial state, physical state, mental state… whatever.

At the same time, refuses to take any action on their part. Oh let’s not forget… flat refuses to take any responsibility for the state their life/business/marriage/mental state etc is in.

Thus far this is a little rant, but I’m building up steam for a full on honkin rant complete with #$*%^#& … frankly I don’t have the time for it. I’m attacking grooming again today. And will be until I get through it. Those little hairballs need that winter coat off in this heat… so it’s the great hair off campaign.

So to wrap it up. You… Me… each and every one of is responsible for our own lives, business, marriage, mental state, messy house, or poopy drawers you may be sitting in. You don’t like that, tough tookis. It’s that free will thing. Your life your responsibility. You don’t like the way your life, etc. is going. CHANGE IT!

Here is the kicker: It takes effort on your part. Effort to learn, Effort to follow thorough, Effort to change direction when necessary. There is another word for effort… can you guess what it is. Bet you can. Ok… here it is … great mystery solved… it’s a tiny little four letter word. No not whine… Whine has five letters. The great mystery word is… drumroll please…W-O-R-K.

Think about it. What you do is up to you! On the flip side. What you don’t do is up to you! The results are yours so is the choice.

News and Notes: Whoo Hoo Summer is Swinging

Summer is in full swing at our little home on the range. Hair is flying everywhere. Whoooo… it’s a hair flurry! In truth I’m grooming out my kennel. My little furry friends put on very heavy coat for winter. They are beautiful dogs when they aren’t in full coat, but when they are they are simply stunning. Back to the actual ranch: I was doing some clean up chores. Disposing of used bedding. I have this big old stock tank that works as a fire ring. Then the ashes are used about the ranch. Anyway I had that fire popping. Not huge, not uncontrollable. My fire ring is right next to a water source. We do not need any range fires out here. Anyway it was just at dark and it was dancing around like liquid flame. So beautiful deep intense orange just flowing over it’s dinner. Lapping it up like a hungry dragon.

Just a thought: Wherever you are, whatever you are doing if you look. You can see beauty.

Remember your focus determines where you go. When you are driving a car you look where you want to go. Then you take approiate action to get there. Turn the steering wheel, use the brakes, accelerator, etc. It’s the same thing with your business, your life overall actually. Take a moment and think about it.

News and Notes... Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father’s Day! Seems amazing that it is already Father’s Day 2007! This year is really zooming by. Geez. Yesterday was a somewhat productive day. I’ve been trying to find reference to who put together a weight/growth chart for toy dogs. Found the chart in a number of sites. But no reference as to who developed it. Who knows. Actually it looks like a decent average guide. So I’m going to incorporate it into my website. Yes I’m going to keep looking for the person who developed it. It will be interesting to see just how it stacks up against what my dogs actually do.

Back to Father’s Day… Once again Happy Father’s Day! To all of you Dads and soon to be Dads out there… Happy Father’s Day to all Moms as well as All Single Parents. You have the combo package… Mom Dad etc.

My Pop is here visiting for a few weeks. It’s good to see him. He drove in from Minnesota. We are in South Eastern Wyoming so that is a bit of a ramble. He’ll be 80 in August and he really looks good. Living in the woods agrees with him. Literally he lives on a place out in the woods in Minnesota. He’s active and it shows.

Hello couch potatoes, want to live that long and actually be able to function. Get off the couch! Move your body, no not jiggling on the way to the frig for some more food. The longer you sit around the harder it is to get into condition. I’m finding that out for sure. My activity level was severely limited due to illness and surgery and it’s kicking my behind getting my body into condition again. Geez who dropped me in the meat grinder. It’s going to take some time and a gradual increase, but I’m keeping at it. I don’t want to be one of those people who can’t wipe their own hiney because they simply didn’t move.

Ok.. fat hineys aside. On the business end of things, so to speak. Here are a couple of top notch tools. Leads*o*matic has been revamped. It worked great before but it is really popping now. But the pictures simply don’t do them justice. They are really beautiful. A pleasure to work with and enjoy. Yes I enjoy my Poms. News and Notes... what is your focus?

Yes I am still ranting. What about? Branding.

What's that you say. No... not sticking a hot iron on your backside. I'm talking about branding yourself on the internet. If I put your name into a search engine what would come up. Would it be you?

I've been running at warp 9 for days. Taking care of my hairballs, doing client interviews, photographing Pomeranians, uploading pics, and editing. In the process I came through a nasty allergic reaction, and dropped 7 pounds. Could have done without the allergic reaction, and could stand to drop 150 more pounds. It's taken me a long time to come this far in my recovery process after having West Nile then major surgery, infections and the whole bit. It's wonderful to feel my body and mind coming alive and gaining momentum.

What does this have to do with business? It has to do with focus. Where is your focus. Where your focus is is where your life/business goes. My focus was on illness then recovery. Now it's on living and my business.

Where is your focus? What is your primary business. What is your passion?

Ah come on. Keep it clean. You know what I mean.

In my marketing efforts I come across a multitude of websites and adverts. Most are cookie cutter sites, with nothing of the person marketing them apparent at all. Only the original site creator's presence is there.

Meanwhile the person marketing that site is wondering why they aren't gaining any momentum; and are still spending more than they are making.

Something to think about.

Marketing you. Branding you. What is your presence on the Internet? What is your business? Don't know? Ask yourself what your passion is. What do you know about, or what would you like to know about? Is it marketable?

What?! You thought success on the Internet was instant and anonymous. Only in fairytales.

Questions of the Day: Who are you? What is your focus? What does your presence say about you?

Yes I know it's scary to put yourself out there. Look they are only people. Well hmmm... I don't know about that ... I can be a Troll at times... lol... purple hair... green eyes... long yellow fangs... Then the sun comes up and I turn back into myself... lol...

News and Notes... Up Before Dawn...

Ok so my computer is puttzing around… actually it’s just taking a while for my Freeffa Site from Veretekk to load because of the number of leads in there.

I was up before dawn stuck it’s rosy nose over the horizion. Tongue in cheek sarcastic this morning as well… in truth my attitude is more like up before the butt crack of dawn this morning.

Awwwww…. First sip of hot black strong coffee… I should have brewed that coffee sooner… Actually life’s not so bad… I woke up at 3:30 this morning. Forget going back to bed… as tired as I may be my mind is whirring all over the place. Forget sleeping when that’s going on. Ping… bounced off that wall… ping… there we go off the other wall… mind only … the body is like …. Oh please… get a grip… meanwhile I’m in here going… will you 2 just work together… geez… then the project crowd starts in… me first… no me first… but you know you wanted this done yesterday… gets kind of noisy in here… kind of… yeah right… like a football stadium on super bowl Sunday. Leads have loaded… pretty cool… around 9000 in there today.

Just heard a meadowlark sing. Love that sound… beautiful… I don’t know which birds they were… but some were trilling about when I first got up at 3:30 a.m. … the roosters were crowing too… that always makes me smile even if I am crabbier than a pissed off camel on acid.
Coffee is kicking in and the clamor is quieting down. In truth it’s been a busy productive week. Frankly it won’t be slowing down this weekend.

Must blast out the door before it heats up... mama dogs to let run... boarding dogs to exercise... photos to edit... there are some useful posts and tools on my blogs... I'll be uploading Pomeranian pics on my main site and The Arfing News later today... Have a great week... links for the tools mentioned above on my blogs as well...
